What to wear for Family Photos

For all of our regular sessions, we do include family and sibling photos because we think this is very important for a family to have updated family photos from time to time. It is also the perfect time to get everyone in the frame since everyone is already at the studio.

We know that choosing what to wear for a family portrait session can feel like a difficult task but don’t worry, we are here to guide you!

Coordinate outfits but don’t match – Our family portraits are done in a white backdrop at the beginning of the session. Light/pastel or white clothing looks best against a white background. Choose a color scheme – mix and match colors so that everyone flows and coordinates. Choosing the right colors is really going to take your professional portrait to the next level. The most popular combination will be: white/beige with khaki or white/beige with light denim.

Comfortable Outfits – Pick outfits that are comfortable, we want you to be comfy and feel confident while taking the photos!

Avoid graphic/ logo t-shirts – We do not remove graphics or logos in post-production.

Iron – Make sure you iron your clothes before coming to the studio. Please note we do not remove wrinkles in post-production

Empty your pockets – Make sure to remove anything that you don’t want in the pictures and make sure to remove anything from pockets and hair ties from wrists.

Don’t be too stressed about clothing, it adds gloss to your image but it won’t break your session. If you can’t decide, feel free to send a picture of your favorite outfits and we can discuss them.

Hopefully this information is helpful for your photo sessions!
